Audio guide at the Centre de la photographie, Geneva

‍‍Incollaboration with artist Akousa Viktoria Adu-Sanyah, we developed a narrative audio experience for her solo exhibition at the Centre de la photographie in Geneva. The storytelling provides fascinating insights into Adu-Sanyah’s artistic process as well as her experience aboard a research vessel. The research also offers an intimate behind-the-scenes look at climate research and contemporary photographic practice.

"It is a key element of the entire project, providing context, atmosphere, intimacy, and accessibility," says artist and photographer Akosua Viktoria Adu-Sanyah about her audio journal.

Use of Wonnder (formerly Audio-Cult)
  • Wonnder (formerly Audio-Cult) provides an opportunity for the artist and her collaborators to express their experiences, their intentions, and the challenges they faced in their work in their own words —free from the constraints of scripted texts
  • Wonnder helps the museum convey the exhibition's concept and make it more accessible to visitors
  • The audio guide web app allows visitors to get to know the artist on a personal level—instantly and with minimal effort
Reach and Access Through Audio-Based Communication

The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive: hundreds of visitors enjoyed the audio tour and rated it 4.9 stars in both French and English. Journalists used the audio diary to prepare for interviews and exhibition reviews. The artist’s audio diary attracted media attention and was featured not only in the national newspaper Le Temps (in both the print and online editions) but also served as the basis for a segment on Swiss television RTS.

Danaé Panchaud, director of the Centre de la photographie, explains:

"We are very pleased with this format and have received very positive feedback about the concept and how easy and straightforward the platform is to use. Our visitors were delighted to have the opportunity to hear Akosua's voice and get to know a more personal side of the project."

The fact that the Wonnder platform (formerly Audio-Cult) enables artists, museums, and journalists to communicate the underlying concept has been a fantastic experience for Wonnder. That’s why we look forward to giving other artists, museums, and exhibitors the opportunity to harness the potential of audio to connect with their audiences.

Wonnder is the new name for Audio-Cult and a web-based audio guide platform for museums that enables audio guides without an app and without a download.
